Panasonic May 17 said it would include the Blu-ray 3D version of Coraline from Universal Studios Home Entertainment with the purchase of a Viera Full HD 3D television.
Panasonic, which claimed the first 3D TV retail sale at a Best Buy store in New York in March, is including Coraline with the previously announced Blu-ray 3D release Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Both the Ice Age and Coraline Blu-ray 3D versions were authored by the compression and authoring center of Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory.
The Viera VT25 series plasma full-HD 3D TV, which include one pair of 3D Active Shutter lens eyewear, are available at retailers nationwide in 50-inch and up screen sizes, and priced from $2,600.
“There may be a couple of times that are considered game changers in the industry, and this is that moment for home entertainment,” said Mary Daily, EVP, marketing, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.
