The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Yahoo! Movies has debuted its list of 100 Movies to See Before You Die at movies.yahoo.com/feature/100-movies-to-see-before-you-die.html.

The titles were chosen by Yahoo! Movies editors and film experts. The 1950s led eras with 19 films, including Rashomon, 12 Angry Men, Vertigo and Some Like It Hot. The only movies produced in 21st century on the list were In the Mood for Love and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Steven Spielberg was the director with the most films on the list; his five films appearing on the list were Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List and E.T. — The Extra-Terrestrial.

“Movies are transformative experiences, and these are certainly the most transformative movies,” said Sean Phillips, executive producer, Yahoo! Movies. “Our hope is that Yahoo! users will post this list on their refrigerators and cross the titles off one by one. These films will entertain, inform and move you, but you’ll need to see them before it’s too late!”
